Server (OS and Sql) restore process with AG's

Hi everyone,
I am fully over how AG's work, backups, restores, fallover etc etc..
The question asked of me by the boss is


If we lose the VM that is running SQL server primary and perform a restore of the OS and SQL restore of backups
